Florida takes a step back in time

The “academic freedom” bill, meant to open the door for teaching Creationism (or Intelligent Design) in public schools, passed in a 4-1 vote of the State Senate education committee.

At least we know that the state education committee is highly committed —  committed to keeping Florida’s education system fiftieth among all the states. It is doing an excellent job on that front. Thumbs up. Know we can teach our children the controversy between evolution and intelligent design. Maybe we should also teach them the controversy between storks and sex (a Dawkins’ analogy), or the shape of the Earth.
